English version of a real Webomat project

Moje Przedszkole (mprzedszkole.edu.pl) is an eco- and sports-focused preschool near Warsaw. The agent redesigned its website; this is the new site translated into English. See the website live →

What to look for

What a good preschool website needs

Parents choosing a preschool compare several at once, usually in the evening and on a phone. The one that wins is the one whose website answers their questions straight away, so they don’t have to call with a list.

Sample website of Moje Przedszkole on a phone
  1. Type of setting and location on the first screen

Public or private, what approach (for example sports, nature, bilingual or Montessori) and which town or neighbourhood. A parent arriving from a search engine knows within seconds whether your preschool is even an option.

  2. Admissions, step by step

When enrolment opens, which documents to submit and where, who gets priority, whether places come up during the year. Public preschools usually follow the local authority’s timetable, so give the dates and a link to its online application system, if there is one.

  3. A day at preschool

An outline of the day from drop-off to pick-up: meals, activities, rest time, outdoor play. Parents want to picture an ordinary day for their child, which is why this is one of the most-read pages.

  4. Groups, extra activities and staff

How many groups and for which ages, what extra activities you offer (for example English, music and movement, speech therapy) and whether they are included in the fee. Teachers by name, with the qualifications they listed themselves. The agent carries over staff descriptions from your current site and never adds credentials to anyone.

  5. Fees without hunting for them

Tuition or charges for hours beyond the funded ones, meal costs, registration fee, the price of extra activities. In a public preschool the rules are set by the local authority, so link to them. Clearly explained fees mean fewer calls to the office.

  6. Menus and allergens

Parents check what their child eats, and parents of children with allergies do it every day. The menu as text or a downloadable file, with allergens marked and information on which diets the kitchen can cater for.

  7. Settling in and the first days

What the first weeks look like, whether a parent can stay in the room, what to pack in their bag. A page like this reassures parents before the year starts and saves the office answering the same questions over and over.

  8. Photos of children only with parental consent

A child’s image is personal data, protected under GDPR in the EU and UK. A public website should only show photos that parents have agreed to publish, or shots without faces: classrooms, the garden, artwork. Updates from everyday activities are better sent to parents through a private channel.

  9. Documents to download

Policies, the parent handbook, the application form, pick-up authorisation, safety procedures. The agent carries over the files from your current site, and you can attach new versions in the chat as a PDF or Word document.

  10. Contact details for parents

A tap-to-call number for the office, opening hours, the address with directions and a tip on where to park at morning drop-off. Plus a form whose messages go to your dashboard and the preschool’s inbox.

  11. Accessibility for public preschools

Publicly funded preschools are often covered by accessibility rules for public-sector websites, typically WCAG 2.1 level AA plus an accessibility statement. The agent builds the site with a logical heading structure, image descriptions and AA contrast; the statement itself is prepared by the preschool.

Common problems

What usually goes wrong on old preschool websites

Many preschool websites were built years ago and have only been added to since. A parent browsing on a phone gives up at the first obstacle.

  • Old site

    Last year’s admissions

An announcement about last year’s enrolment still sits at the top, while the current dates are buried in the news archive. On the new site admissions get their own page, and you update the dates in the revision chat.

  • Old site

    Everything in the news feed

Menus, parent meetings, changed hours, payment rules: all in one stream of posts. The agent moves permanent information onto separate pages, so parents don’t have to dig through the archive.

  • Old site

    Documents that won’t open

Crooked scans of policies, application forms in formats from years ago and links that lead nowhere. The agent carries over documents from your current site and checks the links before delivery, and you can attach up-to-date files in the chat.

  • Old site

    Public albums from every celebration

Hundreds of photos of children in an open gallery, with no certainty that every parent agreed. A few good photos of the classrooms and garden work better on a new site. Photos you attach in the chat are saved by Webomat without metadata, including location data from a phone.

What you get

What the agent builds for a preschool

The agent builds the site from what your preschool already has on its current website. A typical set looks like this; anything missing, such as a settling-in guide or prices for extra activities, you add in the chat.

  1. /

    Homepage

What kind of preschool you are and where, admissions information, the office phone number, a photo of the classrooms or garden.

  2. /about.html

    About us and staff

Your approach and programme, age groups, extra activities, leadership, teachers and specialists.

  3. /our-day.html

    A day at preschool

An outline of the daily routine and how settling in works: what a child’s first weeks look like.

  4. /admissions.html

    Admissions

Dates, rules and documents, and for a public preschool a link to the local authority’s online applications.

  5. /parents.html

    For parents

Fees, menus with allergens, pick-up rules and documents to download.

  6. /contact.html

    Contact

Phone, opening hours, address with directions and a form whose messages go to your dashboard and the preschool’s inbox. For a public preschool, also the accessibility statement.

On every page

  • Tap-to-call phone number
  • Mobile-friendly
  • Titles and descriptions for Google
  • schema.org structured data
  • Sitemap
  • 301 redirects

The $29 package covers up to 10 pages, the larger ones up to 25 or 50. Old URLs, including those linked from the local authority’s website or parents’ groups, are redirected (301) to the new pages.

FAQ

Questions from preschool directors and owners

Can parents enrol their child through the website?

The contact form takes the application: a parent leaves, for example, the child’s name, year of birth and a phone number, and the message goes to your dashboard and the preschool’s inbox. Webomat doesn’t build admissions systems with scoring and lists of accepted children. If your local authority runs online applications, the site explains the steps and links to them.

The menu changes every week. How do we keep it up to date?

The site has no CMS admin panel; changes go through the revision chat: paste the menu or attach a file and the agent puts it on the site. One round is one request, even with up to 15 changes at once; rounds never expire and you can buy more. With weekly changes it is simpler to keep permanent information about diets and allergens on the site and send the current menu wherever you already keep parents informed.

Can the website show photos of children?

Only photos that parents have agreed to have published online. The agent uses the photos from your current site, so before publishing, review the new version and point out in the chat any photos to remove. Photos of classrooms, the garden, children’s artwork and staff who have agreed to it work well on a public website.

We are a public preschool. Will the website meet accessibility requirements?

The agent builds the site to WCAG principles: a single H1 heading, a logical heading order, image descriptions, visible focus and AA contrast, and before delivery the site goes through automated tests. The accessibility statement is prepared by the preschool; we add it as a page and link it in the menu. Webomat does not carry out formal accessibility audits.

Parents find us on Google by name and town. Will that break?

We carry over the titles and descriptions of your current pages and redirect (301) every old URL to the closest new page. The new site has a sitemap and structured data for the preschool with its address, phone and opening hours. Your Google Maps listing is not affected by the new website.

Who updates the website when staff or opening hours change?

Anyone with access to the preschool’s Webomat account, for example the director or the office. You describe the change in plain language, the agent shows how it understood it and, once approved, publishes a new version. Previous versions are kept and you can go back to them.

We only have a Facebook page. Is that enough?

Yes. In a short chat you describe the preschool: address, hours, groups, fees, enrolment rules. The agent builds the website from that, and you can attach photos and documents later in the revision chat.

How much does a website for a preschool cost?

Packages cost $29, $99 or $129 net, paid once, with an invoice. A year of hosting with an SSL certificate is included, and each following year costs $29 net. You see the first homepage version for free before choosing a package. You can also download the finished site as an HTML package and host it on your operator’s or local authority’s server.
