Patient information

Everything people usually ask us on the phone: what happens at a first visit, what to bring, what to do if you're in pain and how to pay.

Your first visit

About 45 minutes, and no pressure

Your first visit is for getting to know each other and agreeing a plan. Treatment only begins once you know what it involves and what it costs.

  1. Examination

We talk about what's bothering you and check your teeth and gums.

  2. X-ray

If needed — an X-ray shows what a mirror can't.

  3. Treatment plan with costs

You get it in writing and decide when you're ready.

What to bring to your first visit

  • Photo ID
  • Any previous X-rays you have
  • A list of the medicines you take

Common questions

Can't see your question? Ring reception on 0117 496 0123.

Do you offer NHS treatment?

No. We're a private practice and don't provide NHS treatment. Our prices are on the fees page, and the exact cost of your treatment will be in the written estimate you receive beforehand.

How much is a first visit?

An examination with a treatment plan is from £60. If you need a panoramic X-ray, that's from £50.

I'm nervous about the dentist. What can I do?

Let us know when you book or at the start of your appointment. We'll explain each step before we take it and agree a signal — a raised hand means we pause.

From what age do you see children?

From age four. Children see Dr Tom Fenwick on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Is the practice wheelchair accessible?

Yes. The practice is on the ground floor with step-free access.

Where can I park?
