Premieres & new work
A futuristic solo show with the songs of Mieczysław Fogg, Helena Urbańska’s playwriting debut and a tragicomedy about Nina Andrycz.
Fri 16 October, 7pm · H. Mikołajska Hall
directed by Anna Karolina Gorajska · text Łukasz Zaleski
New Year’s Eve, 2125. Ava — a pop star and the great-great-great-great-granddaughter of Mieczysław Fogg — hosts a New Year concert at Warsaw’s Palace of Culture. A Teatr Eter production in collaboration with Teatr Dramatyczny.
Premiered 17 September 2026
written and directed by Helena Urbańska · cast Anita Sokołowska, Helena Urbańska
The intimate bond between mother and daughter — the most primal of ties, and one of the most complicated. The production grew out of a performative reading in the HORYZONTY programme.
4, 5, 6, 8 December · Main Stage
directed by Wojciech Faruga · text and dramaturgy Julia Holewińska
Who was Nina Andrycz, really? A tragicomedy in which fact and fiction intertwine — a story of power, art and the price of immortality.
Critics on “The Doll”
Yes, I am impressed by this production. Astutely written, acted, directed and staged.
In theory, Iłynczyk is staging Prus’s “The Doll”, but he also offers us — pulling no punches and free of patriotic falsehoods — a dystopian variant of “Forefathers’ Eve”.
Mariusz Drężek brings the stage to life with his intense presence as the Russian merchant Suzin, Wokulski’s business partner.
So Iłinczyk and Injac also tell us something about a world in which society’s games of appearances conceal brutal behind-the-scenes business dealings that shape the geopolitical order.

The stage where Gustaw Holoubek set out to create an unofficial national theatre. Today — a theatre of ensemble, contemporary drama and conversation.
The theatre is founded as the Polish Army House Theatre (Teatr Domu Wojska Polskiego).
It moves into the Palace of Culture and Science. Marian Meller becomes the first director of Teatr Dramatyczny.
Gustaw Holoubek takes over as director. His ambition was to build a theatre that would become an unofficial national stage.
